Speculations over who succeeds Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed may have been put to rest if the latest report at our disposal is anything to go by.
A third term member of the House of Representatives, Aliyu Bahago Ahman-Pategi (53), is the favourite to land the plum job in 2019 following a secret deal reached between Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, the acclaimed godfather of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State and prominent stakeholders in Kwara North senatorial zone of the North Central state, which comprises of religious and traditional leaders.
Ahman-Pategi’s choice, sources revealed, was informed by his closeness to opinion molders in his zone and his accessibility to the grassroots.
Uknown to many people, Ahman-Pategi who represents Edu/Moro/Patigi federal constituency in the lower chambers is married to Jumoke Akinjide, the former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and daughter of a former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Richard Akinjide (SAN).
