Ogun PDP Crisis: How Adebutu ‘Dislodged’ KashamuThe faction loyal to Hon. Ladi Adebutu may have taken control of the Ogun State chapter of the PDP ahead the 2019 governorship race in the state.
Adebutu’s faction owes its allegiance to the Makarfi-led caretaker committee of the party, while Kashamu is loyal to the Modu Sheriff faction.
Adebutu, who is a member of the House of Representatives and hails from the Remo axis, is alleged to be strengthening his political structures in the party preparatory to launching his campaign in early 2018.
Kashamu, also a power broker in the party, and from Ijebu Igbo, is however believed to be rooting for a power shift to the Yewa division.
The Senator, sources close to him say, is keeping his options open, with words rife that he would be disposed to working with either of the two dominant groups in the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Amosun faction or Osoba/Yayi faction.
