Lagos Weekend Television Resurrects…
Friday, April 1, 2016 (this is no prank) LTV rebranded like the cat with nine lives…with the re-launch of Lagos Weekend Television, LWT! In an elaborate spring-off ceremony relayed live from the Combo Hall (within the broadcasting complex).
We recall the first coming of LWT early eighties when television viewing took massive jolts of excitement and hitherto unheard of 24hr viewing vigil. A crowd of important personalities honoured the day (just as a few of them were given plaques of honour): state’s first executive governor, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde led other commissioners, permanent secretaries, former general managers of the station and tens of other public officers, friends and clients.
