2019: Atiku To Announce Presidential Bid ‘Early Next Year’?

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar is not letting up on his presidential ambition.
With strong feelers that President Muhammadu Buhari may not run for a second term in office, the nation’s former number two man has reportedly revved up his underground campaign preparatory to his formal announcement, which sources close to him say would take place early next year.
Weeks ago, Treasure reported the secret recruitment of “social media warriors” by political associates of the former VP. The maiden meeting of the new recruits took place in Abuja in January, with each attendee smiling home with a sum of $3,000.
Other sources revealed that part of the strategies of Atiku to win the presidential ticket of the APC is to get some of his associates in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defect to APC, with the recent defection of some PDP chieftains in the South East and North East region said to be in furtherance of that strategy.
Other options are also being worked on in the event that the APC presidential ticket does not work out. Part of which, a source said, is to influence the election of a new National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP once the party’s crisis is resolved and a new convention is held.
